Neeraj Pandey's upcoming film 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story' will hit the theatres on September 30, 2016. As promotions for the same are on full swing, here comes a news for both Sushant and Dhoni's fans. The film will be released tax-free in the state of Jharkhand.
As Dhoni hails from Ranchi, people has an emotional quotient attached to the film. For this purpose the state commercial tax department made a proposal to the state government to release the film without including the entertainment tax in the price of the ticket.
"A movie is usually declared tax-free when it carries a positive message or showcases Jharkhand," Jugal Kishore, additional commissioner of the commercial tax department to a leading daily. "Dhoni is a sporting icon in Jharkhand and is also an inspiration for many youth," he added.
Meanwhile, Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali, Dhoni's alma mater have announced a holiday on the release day of the film. "We plan to take schoolchildren to watch the movie on the first day. A committee will be formed after September 15 to work on the proposal", Principal A K Singh said.
