After a very long sabbatical, Nagarjuna made his comeback to the Tamil film industry with the movie 'Payanam. It was a bilingual movie titled 'Gaganam' in Telugu, which was directed by Radha Mohan and produced by Dil Raju along with Prakash Raj. The film did good business in both the Telugu and Tamil versions. Presuming that Nagarjuna's films will yield favorable results, the actor's recent Telugu release 'Rangam' was dubbed in Tamil as 'Vambhu'.

The film had two hot babes – Priyamani and Anushka Shetty starring opposite him in the female lead roles. Unfortunately, the film didn't perform well and the distributors are very disappointed.
