Shankar's film "Nanban",  is all set to hit the screens on 12th January 2012.

A remake of the the Bollywood hit film "3 Idiots", the movie has Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana D'Cruz and Sathyaraj in lead roles, with music by Harris Jayaraj. Vijay plays the role of Aamir Khan from the original movie.

Says Vijay, 'Shankar is also an excellent actor. He can act well, has good timing with the comedy too.  I'm lucky to have acted under his direction. I wanted to work with him for a long time. He is one of the best directors I have met'.

 Jiiva says, 'Shankar has no airs and has been encouraging, especially since my role is supposed to be comical. He gave a lot of tips and guided me during the shoots".

'He addresses me as "Koji" after the release of my movie "Ko", he adds.
