(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nas "didn't want to miss history" at this year's London Olympics.
The rapper was in London as a concert headliner this month.
His basketball player buddies Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James were playing for team USA against Spain August 12.
Six hours before his flight back home, Carmelo gave Nas a phone call.
His two friends talked the star into attending the game and offered him free courtside tickets.
Nas decided to stay and was elated to see his pals win gold.
"He didn't want to miss history," Nas' representatives told TMZ.
Nas would have regretted departing for home and is grateful for his friends' generosity.
"He's very thankful that Carmelo and LeBron looked out for him," his rep continued. "It was a moment that he will always remember."
Nas reportedly had a blast at the team's afterparty after their 107-100 win. (C) Cover Media
