(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Executives have compared a soon-to-be-made movie written by Natalie Portman to the comedy Superbad.
Multi-talented star Natalie has penned a movie script with college pal Laura Moses, and according to the Los Angeles Times executives think the film is like Greg Mottolas 2007 comedy smash starring Jonah Hill and Michael Cera.
Superbad recounted the story of two high school boys who struggle in their plan to stage a wild bash, while Natalies comedy project is entitled BYO (short for Bring Your Own) and is believed to tell the tale of two unlucky in love women in their 20s who throw a party in a bid to meet potential suitors.
The film is expected to show a different side to Natalie, who is closely associated with serious and edgy roles, having made a name for herself in dark films such as Closer and V for Vendetta.
Natalie is set to star as one of the female leads, as well as producing the movie, and it is thought Hollywood star Anne Hathaway has articulated a desire to portray the second lead character.
It is not yet known whether the film will be made independently or by a studio.
Representatives for Anne and Natalie could not immediately be reached to comment on the film. (C) Cover Media
