The 43-year-old actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was surrounded by controversy after mentioning his relationship with 'Miss Lovely' co-star Niharika Singh. Things got even worse as Niharika reportedly registered a complaint with the National Commission for Women that accuses him of outraging the modesty of the actress.
Following the same, the actor announced on Monday that he had decided to withdraw his recently released book, 'An Ordinary Life - A Memoir'. He tweeted saying, "I'm apologising 2 every1 who's sentiments r hurt bcz of d chaos around my memoir #AnOrdinaryLife (sic)." "I hereby regret & decide 2 withdraw my book."
Co-authored by journalist Rituparna Chatterjee, Nawazuddin has not only revealed personal intimate details of his affair with Niharika, but also stated that actress Sunita Rajwar left him because she wanted to "date someone successful, not a struggling, desperate actor who was out of work". The two women, both Singh and Rajwar slammed Siddiqui for manipulating facts.
In a public statement last week, Niharika Singh accused Nawazuddin Siddiqui of lying in his book and stated that he had not taken her consent before documenting their story. Her statement read, "Nawaz and I had a brief relationship in 2009 during the making of 'Miss Lovely' that lasted less than a few months. He obviously wants to sell his book and it would appear that he is willing to exploit and disrespect a woman just to do so."
On October 30, reports suggested that a Delhi-based lawyer named Gautam Gulati had filed a complaint with NCW on behalf of Singh. Looks like the 'Raaes' star is in no mood of confrontation and quietly withdraws his Memoir.
