September 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Primus frontman and bass player Les Claypool says Primus has been gathering new material so as to have enough material for their latest album, scheduled this year. This would be the band's first studio album in more than a decade, 11 years to be precise. The band last released an album called 'Antipop' way back in 1999. This would also be the band's first fresh material since 'Animals Should Not Try to Act Like People' was released in 2003.
Claypool says that at present they are experimenting with the sound to see which is apt for the new album. Les also says that he has several notebooks full of an assortment of writings. He lightly says that thanks to the
Les Claypool, the eccentric and the extremely talented Primus frontman however, didn't expose or predict anything about the musical direction of the album, as he says that there was no concrete musical direction that the band ever pursued.
It has always been diverse, of course and the band likes exploring newer areas. The band likes to get their strange musical ideas together and move on from there, to yet another eccentric musical dimension. Primus fans get ready!
