(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nicki Minaj has denied claims that she was recently assaulted by a man.

It was reported yesterday on website TMZ that the hip-hop star had been "struck" on the lower lip during a fight at a hotel in Dallas, Texas.

But the 26-year-old says she was not abused and took to her Twitter page to hit back at the allegation.

"The fact that you believe a man either slapped or punched me in the face & didn't leave on a stretcher w/his b***s hangin off? (sic)" mused Nicki on the social networking site.

A spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department confirmed that they were called to the Palomar Hotel, but that the details of the incident were not as severe as first reported.

"We responded to her and a friend arguing over a suitcase, and one of them let go and it hit her in the lip," police spokesperson Kevin Janse told MTV News.

He added that no action was taken and no one was arrested. (C) Cover Media
