(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nicki Minaj is reportedly terrified of escalators.

The American star performed at the National Basketball Players Association All-Star Gala on Saturday night, which was held at J.W. Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE. The event was held ahead of last nights annual All-Star game, which saw Kobe Bryants West team triumph.

Nicki looked stunning in patterned leggings and a grey blazer, but problems arose when she realised she would need to take an escalator to pose for photographs. The 26-year-old wasnt keen on riding the moving staircase, so asked paparazzi to come to her instead.

She had time before she was due to go onstage, but she couldn't be persuaded. But the photographers and crews were desperate for her picture, so they all had to come upstairs and hustle backstage to get the shot... Nicki was polite and posed up, a source explained to New York Post.

Afterwards, Nicki gave a storming set in front of invited quests.

Her representative hasnt commented on the claims.

Nicki isnt the only star who is scared of escalators. Macy Gray has previously admitted she is scared of heights, meaning she steers clear of the inventions and of tall buildings. She believes her height is partly to blame, and gets stressed whenever she is required to scale a high structure.
