Nicole Kidman emotional about Oscar nomination

7th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nicole Kidman burst into tears when she heard about her latest Oscar nomination, leaving her two-year-old daughter thoroughly confused.

The actress is in the running for the best actress Academy Award thanks to her role in Rabbit Hole, about a couple who struggle to deal with their grief following the death of their son. Its the third time Nicole has been nominated for one of the prestigious accolades, with the star winning the best actress prize in 2003 for The Hours.

Despite this Nicole is still not used to hearing her name mentioned in relation to the Oscars, and was blown away when she realised she could win another award this year. She was with her husband Keith Urban and their daughter Sunday Rose when the nominations were made public, and become instantly emotional.

Poor Sunday. They said my name, and Keith was like 'Yeah!' and jumping around the kitchen. And Sunday is like, 'What's happening? Why are you crying?' Because I was crying, she laughed.

She said, 'Why are we sad?' I said, 'No. We're not sad, Sunday. We're happy.' So, that would be my memory of this nomination my daughter and my husband jumping around the kitchen.

The 43-year-old and her husband recently announced they are parents to a baby girl called Margaret Grace who was born via a surrogate in December.

Nicole feels happier with her life than ever before at the moment, and gives thanks every day that she has managed to find such happiness with Keith and the rest of her family. (C) Cover Media
