(Cover) - EN Fashion - Nicole Richie dresses in a more ?sophisticated? way in the winter.

The TV-star-turned-fashion-designer is currently promoting the Autumn/Winter 10 range of her Winter Kate collection. She is proud of the pieces she has come up with, which included tailored items and a lot of black. Nicole says the line epitomises the way she dresses in cold weather.

?In the winter I dress in a slightly more sophisticated way,? she explained. ?But I have to be comfortable too. With the right fabrics ? which to me are the most important thing ? you can do both.?

Nicole finds it hard to discuss her signature style, as she simply wears things she is drawn to. She insists she isn?t always as pulled-together as people think, and often brightens up an outfit by throwing on a patterned jacket.

?My style has evolved naturally in the same way that anyone?s style would evolve from their teens to their 20s,? she told the October issue of British magazine InStyle. ?When I look back at old photos, I?m able to laugh at myself, in the same way I can show my dad [Lionel Richie] a picture of himself when he was in The Commodores with the Afro and the bell bottoms and he?s like, ?Oh baby, that?s so funny.??
