(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nicole Scherzinger is teaching Simon Cowell "a thing or two" about the music industry.

The sassy singer is a judge on US X Factor alongside Simon, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul. Although Nicole doesn't have as much experience as Simon in discovering new talent, she claims she has broadened his horizons.

"He's a good boss. He's a tough cookie, it's good, it makes you want to work harder," she said in an interview with UK TV show Daybreak. "I don't know, I think I have taught him a thing or two, since I have been on the show.

"I can't get enough of X Factor, I love it."

The star who recently split from racing driver Lewis Hamilton - is currently promoting her single Try with Me.

In the song, Nicole begs her lover to give their relationship one more chance.

Nicole enjoys performing the up-tempo balled, revealing the dance beat makes her even more passionate about the lyrics.

"I like having the ballad but then having the upbeat tempo because it gives it energy," she explained. "You are able to emote your emotions and be really into the song and feel the energy."

The 33-year-old star has a hectic work schedule, juggling her television and music commitments. Nicole is constantly on the road and admits she usually takes a lot of belongings with her.

"I always travel with several suitcases. This one is just for my hair I am serious!" Nicole laughed. (C) Cover Media
