Nicole Scherzinger keen to perform at royal wedding

18th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Nicole Scherzinger has the perfect song to perform at Britains Prince Williams wedding next month.

The American star recorded a track with theatre legend Andrew Lloyd Webber and believes it would be a wonderful tribute to William and his fiance Kate Middleton, who will tie the knot in Westminster Abbey in London on April 29. Nicole admits she is in awe of Andrew and would love the opportunity to work with him again. She enjoys appearing in theatre productions and would relish the chance to land another stage role.

I cant say enough just how highly I regard Andrew Lloyd Webber. Andrew has changed the face of musical theatre, Nicole said in an interview with British newspaper The Daily Mirror. I did Chicago before the Pussycat Dolls, so musical theatre is where it all began for me. Andrew knows more than anybody what he is talking about, so we should all listen to him.

I did a song with Andrew, Love Never Dies, which would be perfect for the royal wedding.

Nicole also spoke about speculation linking her to the judging panel for the American version of British television talent show The X Factor. Simon Cowell is taking the series Stateside later this year and is looking for the biggest names in the music industry to join him as judges. Although Nicole has a good relationship with the music mogul, she worries some contestants are more interested in fame than releasing records.

X Factor is hot, but for me Andrew Lloyd Webber is the foundation, she added. If theres any way I can have a working and creative relationship with Andrew that would be my greatest honour. For X Factor, I think the intention to win is to become famous, whereas for theatre its a more rewarding prize.

Theres so much speculation about me doing UK X Factor and the US one. It would be an honour if they would ask me. Simon will do just fine in the US. Whatever he touches turns to gold.

I have so much fun teasing Simon when we hang out. He has what I call a powder face. Whenever the make-up artist puts a light coat of powder over his face he leans back, closes his eyes and relaxes like he is meditating. Hes very peaceful. (C) Cover Media
