December 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Former Desperate Housewives actress Nicollette Sheridan, who filed a lawsuit worth $20 million against the shows maker Marc Cherry, has agreed to drop the claims of mental and physical abuse.
Sheridian played the role of villain Edie Britt on the show but she claimed to turn the victim herself. On April 5, 2010, she filed a $20 million lawsuit against Marc and ABC alleging that she was alleged by him physically and mentally when she was working with them.
Initially, Sheridian said that Marc took her aside and hit her forcefully with his hands across her face and head. The British actress alleged assault and battery, wrongful termination and gender violence.
On her filing to the Los Angeles Superior Court, the 47 year old actress dropped the claims of emotional distress and physical injury. According to the agreement, the case will persist without those causes of action.
Sheridian also claimed that Marc was insulting other cast members as well as writers but she did not get support from anyone of them. In fact, the stars like Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Felicity Huffman came out in support of Marc and Sheridian was left alone in her battle.
It may be because of lack of support, the actress has thought of stepping back from claims!
