No biopic on MS Dhoni till he retires

5th September 2014

Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey of 'A Wednesday' and 'Special 26' fame, was all set to join the 'biopic' bandwagon with his film on the life of the celebrated Indian cricketer MS Dhoni.

He discussed the idea with the Indian Captian. An excited Dhoni not only gave his consent for the film but also demanded a whopping Rs. 40 crores for the rights to put his life on the celluloid.

'Kai Po Che' star Sushant Singh Rajput who had already played a cricketer in his debut Bollywood film, was offered the role. He apparently had a long meeting with Dhoni too.

But all the preparations and efforts were washed off recently when the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) played spoilsport.

They told Dhoni that his life cannot be turned into a biopic till he continues to play cricket professionally. As BCCI is the governing body for the game of cricket in India, Dhoni couldn't help but follow their dictate.

So fans who were eager to get a hindsight into the life of the most successful Indian captain ever, will have to wait for some more years.
