No more ban for Indian movies in Pakistan

19th December 2016

In the recent past Bollywood film industry faced the toughest time when Pakistani actors were banned to work in Indian films. The future of those films which included Pak actors and had completed their shooting was in danger. But soon they were relieved and thereafter till now no Pakistani actor is supposed to work in Indian films. Even the state of Pakistan banned the screening of Indian films in their theatres with the rising tensions on the borders. But the good news is they have now lifted the ban and Indian movies will be showcased in the theatres from Monday.

The first movie to make it to the theatres is Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer comedy film 'Freaky Ali.' A cinema owner was quoted saying, "We lifted the suspension as a cinema guild. We took this decision to support them (Indian cinemas) and expect them to support us."

Unlike in India, Bollywood celebs enjoy a huge audience attention in Pakistan too and with the ban the cinema owners there beared a huge revenue loss.
