Filmmaker Vikram Sandhu is gearing up to make a feature film on a troubled actress's life which is reportedly based on the yesteryear actress Divya Bharti's life. Her sudden death on April 5, 1993 had left the industry stunned as she was at the peak of her career and the mystery over her death still remains unsolved. She is supposed to have fallen off from the balcony of her flat but the reason of her death has not been proved yet. 

Though filmmaker Vikram has shunned the rumor of his film based on Divya's life, he too couldn't help but confess about the striking similarities between the real and reel story. 

"My film is based on a young girl in her teens becomes a star overnight, and how her journey from a small town girl to fame leads her to a drastic stage. It might sound similar to some real character (Divya Bharti) but it is not based on any particular star", said Vikram who will be directing and producing the film as well.
