Oprah Winfrey: Life is better shared

31st March 2012

Oprah Winfrey believes that open communication "allows you to be the best you can be."

The media titan's television network OWN has been having issues and has not been as successful as she had hoped.

Despite her struggles Oprah is committed to building a great enterprise, as she supports free expression.

"My thing is I've always thought life is better when you can share it," Oprah told Extra. "Information that opens up your heart space and allows you to be the best you can be."

Oprah, who vociferously supported President Barack Obama in his 2008 presidential campaign, doesn't know if she has time to bolster his bid for re-election next year.

"When I stepped out four years ago, nobody really knew who he was," she recalled. "I think if he needed me. I would do what was needed, but I don't think that's necessary this time around. I love Mr. Obama, but I am building a network."

Oprah recently laid off 30 of her employees due to poor ratings and low advertising on OWN.

According to TMZ she offered "extremely generous" severance packages to the former staff and apparently brought in some recruiters to help them find new jobs.
