The release of Osthi has been delayed once again. The movie that was originally supposed to release on the occassion of Diwali, was pushed to the last week of November. And now, an official announcement states that the movie would hit the screens on December 8.

Meanwhile, an all excited Silambarasan says, "When I wanted to remake Dabangg in Tamil, I decided that Dharani, who knows the knack of giving commercial hits, should direct the film. He agreed and everything fell in place after that."

The team shot for 87 days in Mysore for the movie. Gopinath has done the cinematography, while the music is composed by Thaman.

Silambarasan says that he worked hard to get six packs for 30 days and his fans will enjoy it. He adds, "Osthi will meet the standards of Dabangg. But I have certainly not copied Salman Khan. I have tried my level best to retain my originality."
