Padmavati confirmed to release as Padmavat on Jan. 25

9th January 2018

It is a chaos for the other films releasing on the republic week as Sanjay Leela Bhansali's most anticipated as well as controversial film till date 'Padmavati' is all set to hit the silver screen on January 25. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the news on his official Twitter handle saying, ''#Padmavat to release on 25 Jan 2018... #RepublicDayWeekend."

Just after the official announcement of the release date, Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra starrer 'Aiyaary' which was set to release along with Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Padman' have pushed their release date further to 9th Feb. Yes, why would a film want to clash with such a high-budget period drama and take a risk to compete on the box-office?

So the republic day will witness the great Royal pride and the queen of Mewar, Maharani Padmini's bravery and the fans are eagerly waiting to get hold of it.

Padmavat features Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji. The film is handed a U/A certification from the Central Board of Film Certification, subject to five modifications including a change in the title from Padmavati to Padmavat. However, the Shri Rajput Karni Sena holds the same opinion of defaming the royal pride of its community, protests continue against Padmavat as they still demand a total ban on the film.

Padmavat will release along with Akshay Kumar's 'Padman' on January 25.
