Director A.R. Murugadoss has been hunting in and out to find the leads for the remake of his Tamil thriller 'Thupakki'. The film that originally had Vijay and Kajal Agarwal playing the lead will finally see two Bollywood stars in the Hindi version.

Yes, the director has finally roped in Parineeti Chopra to play the lead opposite Akshay Kumar. While Akki was initially confirmed, the team was looking for a suitable actress who could be paired opposite him.

At first, Diana Penty was considered for the role. But she is from the same agency with which Akshay has a problem with, hence he refused to work with her.

Off late, Akki has been sharing the screen space with many new and young actresses like Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Sharma. Parineeti will be another one added to the list.

According to a few sources, the team were considering actresses like Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif too, but A.R. confirmed that Parineeti is roped in to reprise Kajal's role.

Murugadoss started off his Bollywood career with the movie 'Ghajini' in 2008 starring Aamir Khan and Asin. Guess, Bollywood has been taking the making of South movies in Hindi very seriously.
