(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Paris Hilton reportedly gave away "all the cash she was carrying" to a group of poverty-stricken people in Mumbai, India.

The hotel heiress and reality TV star flew to the country to launch her line of handbags and accessories at the weekend.

While on the business trip, Paris stopped her SUV to hand a $100 bill to a poor woman who was carrying a baby, before giving away more cash to other people in the area.

"Yesterday [Sunday] when Paris was travelling to launch her bag store, a woman with a baby was begging near her car; she was so moved that she gave her a $100 note," a source told local Indian publications.

Sources close to Paris told US website TMZ that after the incident the star "was so emotional about the poverty situation in India, she decided to give away all of the cash she was carrying on her at the time to other poor people in the area," which totalled more than $2,000.

Paris later took to her Twitter page to express her feelings about the country.

"#India is beautiful, but some parts are very poverty stricken. Broke my heart to see babies sleeping on the streets :( (sic)," she wrote.

Paris is keen to make a difference since seeing the country's problems first-hand. She took to her social networking page a few hours later to ask for suggestions for non-profit organisations in the region.

"What are the most credible non-profit charity organizations here in #India? After seeing what I've seen, I want to help make a difference (sic)," she wrote. (C) Cover Media
