(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Paris Hilton used to "sneak out" of her parents' house as a teenager because they were so strict.

The 30-year-old socialite-and-reality-star was not a perfect teenager. Although her parents were stern about rules and regulations, Paris figured out ways to have some unruly fun.

"When I was 17, I was living in New York City at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel," Paris recalled on MTV television programme When I Was 17. "My parents were very strict. So a lot of the times, what I would do is actually sneak out at night."

Paris was highly guarded and had to figure out a way to exit the premises without being seen. She surveyed the hotel to find the best means of escape.

"So basically one day I went through the whole hotel and figured out the best route where the [security] cameras wouldn't spot me," Paris said. "I would literally run down, maybe, 15 flights of stairs, through the fire exit."

Paris would also try to conceal here whereabouts by throwing her parents off her scent. She would put pillows under her blanket to trick her mum into believing that she was fast asleep in bed.

"[I would put pillows beneath my duvet] [a]nd then I'd put a blonde wig, with the hair coming out. This actually worked for a few months. My mom had no idea," Paris said. "Then one night for some reason she needed to talk to me and came in the room and lifted [the comforter] up and... [I got busted]." (C) Cover Media
