Paul McCartney enjoys noisy wedding

11th October 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sir Paul McCartney received official complaints about his noisy wedding reception.

Paul and Nancy Shevell tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Marylebone Register Office in Central London on Sunday.

The post-ceremony celebrations were held in the back garden of Paul's home in St. John's Wood, London.

Council officials visited the reception because neighbours were unhappy with the level of noise after midnight.

"A complaint was received about an address in St. John's Wood," said Head of noise and licensing at Westminster Council Andrew Ralph. "Officers visited and the volume was reduced. No further action is being taken."

However, the warning did little to dampen the festivities and the party continued until 3am.

"It did raise a laugh when the two gentlemen rang the door bell and insisted it was time to settle things down. It could have been 1968 all over again," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

The music for the reception was provided by celebrity friend DJ Mark Ronson and many of the former Beatles' friends were keen to keep the party going.

Ronnie Wood, Kate Moss and iconic British model Twiggy all attended the party.
