Paul Weller: Ill never retire

5th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Paul Weller says there is no way he will contemplate retiring from the music industry unless he drops dead.

The 52-year-old musicians record Wake Up The Nation was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize this year, leaving him ecstatic. At one point in his life Paul used to think about a time when he would no longer perform in front of a crowd on stage, but those ideas are long in the past thanks to such honours.

If I can still stand up, I will be f**king doing it, he told NME. Definitely, I dont think there is any end to it, before I drop dead.

The star, who has been working in the music industry for the last 34 years, is determined not to let old age get in the way of his career progress. The guitar player got married to his backing singer Hannah Andrews two months ago and feels like life is just starting over for him.

The celebrity swore that he wouldnt end his creative musical run until he becomes ill or something happens to his thick grey locks.

Or lose my hair, yeah, he joked when asked if this would push him to quit his career. There is no end to it for me, until you physically can t do it anymore. I cant think about the end. I used to when I was younger but not anymore. No way. (C) Cover Media
