PeeCee honoured with Sridevi Excellence Award at Jharkhand Film Fest

The Jharkhand International Film Festival ended on a positive note as Priyanka Chopra was felicitated with the prestigious Sridevi Excellence Award. Not being present in India, Priyanka Chopra's mother Madhu Chopra received the honour on behalf of her.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt gave the award in PeeCee's honour. The 35-year-old made her presence by a video conference call from the US and said, "I'm very honoured to receive the Sridevi memorial excellence award at the inaugural Jharkhand International Film Festival. Sri ma’am was my favourite and I’m really, really humbled at receiving this award in her name. It'll only encourage me to do more."

Priyanka recently made an official UNICEF visit to meet the refugees at the Roginya camps at Bangladesh. On the work front, she will now feature in Salman Khan's upcoming film 'Bharat' helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Mahesh Bhatt was also awarded with Milestone of Jharkhand film policy award which was given away by actor Akhilendra Mishra. Mr. Bhatt shot his film 'Begum Jaan' in Dumka district of Jharkhand with full support from Rishi Prakash Mishra who was the festival director of Jharkhand International Film Festival.

Bhatt thanked Mr Prakash for his support during Begum Jaan and he said,"I wish that the smaller filmmakers and storytellers will get more support so that they can continue telling stories without worrying about the funds."
