(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Pixie Lott says meeting Mariah Carey was overwhelming but amazing.

The 19-year-old British singer shot to fame in 2008 with her own brand of catchy pop music, and has gone on to become one of the UKs most promising stars.

Pixie has met many of her idols since becoming successful in the music industry, and admits the one time she felt truly star-struck was when she met Mariah Carey as she had always been such a huge fan of the singer.

I was really overwhelmed to meet Mariah Carey in the flesh. I grew up listening to her albums, so it was amazing, gushed Pixie in an interview with British magazine Star.

The singer went on to explain that their conversation didnt last very long, although Pixie was thrilled when Mariah told her she was happy to meet her too.

It was a really brief meeting, I said: Hi, Im a big fan. Nice to meet you. And she said: Cool, nice to meet you, too! That was it! recalled Pixie.

As well as being a successful musician, Pixie is also set to star in an upcoming Hollywood movie alongside A-list celebrities including Sharon Stone and Bette Midler.

The film is a comedy about a man called Joe who takes his pregnant girlfriend Mary to the Holy town of Bethlehem, leading locals to assume they are the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Pixie says shes very excited about the project, which she hasnt started shooting yet, although she knows it will be hard work.

Its something new. Its not as easy as waking up in the morning and singing, she mused. I have to get stuck into my character, so well have to see what happens. (C) Cover Media
