Director Prabhu Solomon loves to do things differently. He is shooting ‘Kumki’ a film about a mahout on the top of the highest waterfalls in India; Jog falls, in the State of Karnataka.
Other films have been shot here but nobody has ever ventured to the top. Solomon, who dares to differ, has travelled 10Km by road to reach the falls and is using waterproof camera lenses to shoot a few scenes.
‘Kumki’ is being produced by film maker Lingusamy's Thirrupathy Brothers Banners and stars Vikram - son of veteran actor Prabhu. Vikram is playing the mahout of a domesticated elephant used to scare off wild tuskers. Lakshmi Menon from Kerala plays the female lead.
Says Prabhu Solomon, “‘Kumki’ is a real life story quite like my earlier venture ‘Mynaa’. There will be a beautiful love story set in the backdrop of a forest in ‘Kumki’. I am happy to work with Vikram, the grandson of Nadigar Thilakam Sivaji Ganesan.
