Preethika who had acted in Chikku Bukku hails from Mangalore but now is domiciled in Mumbai. She while speaking to the media said,” Manikandan signed me for the film Chikku Bukku after seeing my photo in a South Indian magazine. I agreed because this was a Tamil film and also produced by Media One Global Entertainment who produced Jeans. I was double happy because  I would be acting with the popular hero Arya. Earlier Vidhya Balan was supposed to do the role which I did. Since Vidhya Balan was not able to give the call sheet, I got the opportunity to act in this film. It was a new experience for me to act as a pure Tamil girl wearing half saree. I was also very happy when the kids who acted with me called sister. The only problem was language. But I took lots of efforts and set it right. About me, I should say that though Mangalore is my native place, I was born and brought up in Mumbai. I graduated in History, Mass Communication and Journalism. At the age of 19, I started applying makeup. I have modeled in many countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia. Now I am currently acting in a Kannada film titled Rathaksha.”
