Britain's Prince William would reportedly like to have two children.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently visiting Singapore as part of their 2012 tour honouring Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. During the visit, the British royal inadvertently revealed his desire to have a family with his wife Catherine.

During a guided morning walk Prince William was asked how big a family he would like by a boy.

"Two," he replied, according to British newspaper The Daily Mail.

The couple were visiting the Cloud Forest at Gardens By The Bay on the second day of their nine-day tour of South East Asia and the South Pacific.

On their first day in Singapore, the duke and duchess paid a visit to Singapore's Botanic Gardens.

Prince William experienced a poignant moment when they witnessed an orchid being named for them and another for his late mother Princess Diana, 15 years after she was to have viewed the flower herself.

Diana was due to visit the white orchid named in her honour in 1997, but was killed in a car crash two weeks earlier.

William stared at the delicate flower. "It's beautiful, it's beautiful," he said.

William and Catherine were married in April 2011. The royal couple are both 30 and are predicted to start their family once the tour is over.
