(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Queen Latifah has revealed that she is currently "working" on plans to adopt a child.

The rapper-turned-actress was appearing on The View talk show today when she opened up about her dreams to become a mother.

When asked by co-host Barbara Walters if she had seriously considered adoption, Latifah shared her news.

"I'm actually kind of working on that," the 42-year-old said.

The Joyful Noise star elaborated when pressed further about her wish to start a family.

"I think I saw one of those specials," Latifah shared. "You know those movies of the week. And I was like and I just always wanted to bring a child home."

She said that it wouldn't really matter where in the world the child came from.

"So are you really seriously planning on adopting?" Barbara asked the Hollywood star.

"I'm totally serious, so if you got a kid that you don't Just give me a year let me set up camp and send me the kid," Latifah laughed. "But no, no totally." (C) Cover Media
