A lot is being spoken about Rajinikanth ever since he officially announced on Thursday that his next movie would be Kochadaiyaan.
"'This is a quickie from the Thalaivar since he needs to warm up with a project that requires lesser efforts from him, before starting his magnum opus Rana. Also, this will be an alternative to the long pending Sultan The Warrior," mentioned a source.
Enlightening about the title of the film, futher he said, "The word Kochaidayaan means 'a king with long hair'. The role Rajini is doing in this movie will be an extension to that of the memorable Vettaiya Raja character in the blockbuster Chandramukhi."
On Thursday, a press release from Rajinikanth's publicist said, "After Enthiran and before Rana, Rajinikanth’s next release would be a hi-tech 3D film titled Kochadaiyaan. This is the first time that a 3D movie with performance capturing technology is being produced in India."
"It is worth mentioning that all time box office hit Avatar directed by James Cameron and the latest sensation The Adventures of Tin Tin directed by Steven Spielberg have been produced with the same performance capturing technology, in Hollywood," it added.
The story, screenplay and dialogues are written by K S Ravikumar, who is also supervising the direction. The film is directed by Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth.
The movie is produced by Eros International and Media one Global Entertainment limited. The work is progressing at a fast pace. The movie is scheduled to release in August 2012. Rajinikanth will act in Rana, following Kochadaiyaan in 2012.
