Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's father, Suresh Hirani, passed away after a prolonged illness at the age of 77. His last rites were conducted on June 4 at Santacruz in Mumbai.
Aamir Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Sharman Joshi, Raageshwari Loomba, Abhinav Kashyap and Boman Irani were among the few celebs who attended the funeral.
Rajkumar Hirani's father was an inspiration to him and people of the film industry in many ways. A Sindhi by cast, senior Hirani had his own typing institute in Nagpur. Hirani and his family had moved to India after the indo-pak partition.
Raju, who has been busy with the promotions of Rajesh Mapuskar's 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' and writing his own film 'Peekay' lately, was in Mumbai for the funeral.
Our condolences to the Hiranis!
