Many Indian films have got a warm welcome by international markets. One of these markets is Japan.
Recently, filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Farhan Akhtar-starrer, 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' (2013), had its premiere in Japan on Thursday (January 15).
It was very well received by the local audience. The crowd not only cheered the film, but also gave a standing ovation to Rakeysh for his excellent hold on the film.
Rakyesh, who was overwhelmed by the gesture, got emotional as he has a special bond with the country. Not many know that the he lived in Japan for a few years in his early twenties.
Hence returning to the country after 30 years with this film was very special for him. The compliments for the film just added to his joy.
"It felt very good to go back to a place where I spent a few formative years of my life. I was nostalgic and very happy. It was a great feeling," said the filmmaker.
