August 16, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Vivek Oberoi, son of the yesteryear actor and hotel industry tycoon Suresh Oberoi, is in news for his role in an upcoming movie Raktacharitra, directed by Ram Gopal Verma. After a breach of eight years, the actor has teamed up with the renowned director once again. Vivek had earlier worked with Ramu in Company, a Bollywood action flick showing the mafia world. The movie was released in 2002.
Addressing Ram Gopal Verma as his mentor, Vivek, who has such hits as Sathiya in his bag, said, that he is happy to get the opportunity to work with his mentor once again. Playing a significant role in Raktacharitra has been a thrilling experience for him. While shooting for the movie he felt setting his career on a role again.
The actor went on adding that it was fascinating to work with such a maverick director as Ram Gopal Verma. Throwing light on the character that he plays in the movie, Vivek says that his role is a most complex and multi-layered one. Ramuji has helped him get into the skin of the character. He attributed the credit of portraying the character outstandingly to the director.
Raktacharitra is a political thriller. Based on the life of a mighty figure from the South Indian political world, the movie is a real life story depicting the protagonist's rise from humble background to the height of power. It will go on floors this October.
