Rao's first poster of Omerta, trailer to release soon

13th March 2018

Rajkummar Rao will next be seen in Hansal Mehta directorial 'Omerta' in which the actor will essay the role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. The critically acclaimed film is already premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and Jio MAMI film festival last year.

Today, the actor took this moment and shared the film's new poster. The 'Newton' actor shared the movie poster on his official Twitter account and captioned it,"Here's the official poster of #Omerta. Film releasing on 20th April. Trailer out in two days. @mehtahansal."

The actor plays a British born terrorist Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh who was involved in kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl in 2002, and his links to various Islamist organisations.

This is Rao's fourth collaboration with director Hansal Mehta after critical hits like 'Aligarh', 'Citylight' and 'Shahid'. It will be exciting to see how Rao played the role of an international criminal Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. Despite helming critically acclaimed hits, filmmaker Hansal Mehta feels that Omerta might get some trouble passing the censor board.

Mehta said, "Let's see. We will cross the bridge when we come to it. There will be a problem. But I hope they (censor board) understands the film's context. We haven't done anything to sensationalise."
