September 15, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon has come out in support of avoiding wearing clothes, shoes and accessories that are made with animal skins. The 35 year old actress will feature in an advertisement by the 'People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA).
Raveena will put on a graceful outfit that looks like the snake skin. She will be shown in a pull of blood in that snake like attire. And below her picture, these lines will appear, 'Wearing Exotic Skins Kills. So, leave Wildlife out of Your Wardrobe'.
The National Award winning actress is offering her support to create awareness about the pain of snakes and other animals whose skins are used to prepare various clothes and accessories. In a statement released on Monday, Raveena was quoted saying that it is as cruel as killing a snake when one wears the shoes, clothes and other accessories made from the exotic skin.
The actress said that now days, a wild kingdom of mock crocodiles, fake snake and python leather are available that pay a nice tribute to the beauty of these wild animals without making them victims of fashion. She informed people about how these animals undergo a painful process when they are nailed to trees or posts and are skinned alive.
With this step, Raveena has now joined the celebrities like John Abraham, Sir Paul McCartney, Pamela Anderson and Jackie Chan, who have participated in campaigns for PETA to save animals.
