Virodhi, a Srikanth starrer, directed by Neelakantha, has been selected for the Panorama at International Film Festival of India 2011. Popularly known as IFFI, the event is scheduled in Goa in the month of November.
The movie is about Jaidev (Srikanth), a journalist who exposes the corrupt deeds of a politician (Ahuti Prasad). The scribe is present when the politician is killed in a Naxal attack. He is then kidnapped by the gang.
What follows is a heated argument between the journalist and the gang. The film, which hit the screens recently, was critically acclaimed. Kamalini Mukherjee has played the female lead.
Seven Malayalam films including Santosh Sivan's Urumi bagged a place in the list. However, Virodhi is the only film in Telugu to get the place in the coveted section of International Film Festival of India 2011.
