(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Reese Witherspoon marked turning 35 this Tuesday with a relaxed dinner for family and friends.

The actress, who is engaged to Hollywood talent agent Jim Toth, celebrated her special day surrounded by her husband-to-be and her two children from her previous marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe, Ava, 11, and Deacon, seven.

The loved-up star spent the night joined at the hip of her 40-year-old fianc at the Tavern restaurant in Los Angeles.

"Jim had his arm around Reese and was scratching her back from time to time," a source told American website UsMagazine.com. "They looked into each other's eyes and talked nose to nose while smiling back and forth."

Reeses parents and siblings also attended the casual dinner, where the bride-to-be tucked into Devil's chicken with braised leeks and mustard bread-crumbs.

The Academy Award winners soon-to-be second husband already appears to be fully integrated into the Witherspoon clan.

"Jim seems to get along well with Reese's family," an onlooker added. "He was joking around with her brother John and the two seemed to be good friends.

"Jim was also hands-on with Reese's little nieces. When they left the restaurant, he carried one of the little girls in his arms. He also gave Deacon a big hug at the end of dinner when he came up to sit with his mom."

Reese is rumoured to be planning to marry Jim at her luxury estate in Ojai Valley, California, this weekend. (C) Cover Media
