Review 2 : Golmaal 3 (2010)

6th November 2010

November 6, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The third installment of the rib tickling comedy series is back again. Promoted as the first trilogy in the comedy genre, the name itself promises three hours of mindless fun and a good time. A particular endearing part of the movie may well be its appeal of being able to forget about the burdens that plague us every day of our real lives. Its time to say bye to reality for a moment and welcome the light hearted frivolous moments with gusto.

Rohit Shetty, the director may well have been aware that he would have to face competition by the older Golmaals that he helped create himself. And yes! He definitely succeeds in keeping his brand of brainless, logic less, humor flying and the laughathalon proves that Shetty is indeed the best when it comes to laughing out loud.

The two sets of siblings who hate the sight of each other comprises of eight characters with each one of them etched out with loving care. The senior duo of Ratna Pathak Shah and Mithun Chakraborty prove once again why they are the masters of the game while the younger cast of actors including Ajay Devgn and Kareena fit in well, not letting the screenplay sag as they go about their antics replete with jibes, quips and jokes.

The henchmen Vrajesh Hirjee and Sanjay Mishra are at their best as they go around desperately searching for the illusive necklace that is hidden somewhere. Based loosely on the Ashok Kumar-Pearl Padamsee starrer Khatta Meetha of yesteryears along with a generous dollop of Yours, Mine and Ours from Hollywood, Rohit Shetty ensures that Golmaal 3 has his trademark of action too. The cars, therefore, collide with each other, blowing up all over the screen at regular intervals.

All in all, Golmaal 3 is thrice the fun, hilarity as well as high on the entertaining factor and is certain to bring in good cheer and happiness to our lives this festive season.
