(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ricky Martin says no one can stop him from expressing his feelings now.

The Puerto Rican singer publicly acknowledged his homosexuality in March of last year in a post on his official website. The star had previously dated women, including Mexican TV host Rebecca de Alba who he had an off-off relationship with for over 14 years.

The 39-year-old star feels liberated and able to express himself honestly and openly since announcing his sexuality.

At this point in my life, I feel really comfortable about my emotions and talking about them, he told the Chicago Sun-Times. It took me 21, 22 years of being silent and analysing where Ive been and what I wanted with my life. And now, its oh, my God, no one can stop me now!

Ricky who released his album Musica+Alma+Sexo in February this year says it took him time to truly understand who he was. Although he was suppressing his sexuality throughout the beginning of his career, he never felt like he was living a lie because he was doing what felt natural at the time.

To be really honest, ten years ago, I thought I was being myself. What I would talk about in my music, what I would talk about in my interviews, that was my reality back then. I guess denial is very powerful. You can call it whatever you want, its each individuals natural process of accepting things. Everyone has their own time scheme, he explained. What Im trying to say here is that I wasnt living a lie, I think it was part of my natural thought process, what I was feeling. And how I was portraying myself.
