(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rihanna has revealed she had to get rid of all things Rihanna to take on her new movie role.

The R&B sensation who turned 23 last month makes her big screen debut as weapons officer Raikes in blockbuster Battleship, which will be released next year.

The singer stars alongside Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard in the film which is based on the adaptation of Hasbros naval combat board game.

The seductive songstress says she had to toughen up for the role and lose her signature persona.

I had to get rid of all things Rihanna to be Raikes. She has balls and shes not afraid to get dirty with the guys. Shes not afraid to fight, shes a killer and she loves it, she told the British edition of OK! magazine.

Rihanna says she has shot weapons in the past but they were nothing in comparison to the guns on the set of Battleship. The stunning singer said she wasnt entirely prepared to use the weapons, but she didnt have time to get intimidated as she had to use them as soon as she turned up to film.

I pretty much got thrown into it the minute I got to set. Ive shot weapons in the past, but not like this these are big, big guns, she added. (C) Cover Media
