(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rita Ora's mother encouraged the star to "believe in music" and "feel freedom" when she was growing up.

The 21-year-old singer has been making waves in the music industry of late with her debut album Ora. Rita - who is signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label - says she owes her success to her supportive parents.

"I've had this dream as long as I can remember. My mum and my dad are the sweetest couple. They can't sing to save their lives, but they have great taste in music. Every morning when I woke up, my dad believed in music to make the energy in the house higher. He'd play Eric Clapton, Janis Joplin, Prince, BB King Tina Turner's Private Dancer was one of my mum's theme albums to cook to," she revealed to British newspaper The Mirror.

"Every day she'd say, Just think of yourself performing in front of a sea of people and it will come true'. She was a great believer in putting positive thought into your energy. That's how I grew up believing in music feeling freedom."

Rita is astounded by the success she is currently enjoying. The blonde haired beauty is taking her newfound fame in her stride.

"It feels amazing. I'm so chuffed. Stardom, it's a funny thing. You never know what it's like until you're in it," she revealed.

"I knew what I had to do, what I had to sacrifice and it's not a problem. With the right team around you, you can control it." (C) Cover Media
