(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robyn says releasing an album of 15 songs is a constipated half-way of dealing with fans.

The Swedish-born singer has released three records this year with the first two albums containing eight tracks. Robyn believes that treating fans to regular new material is the best way to work as it ensures you always sound fresh. The star says she was inspired by Princes early records when she decided to work on shorter albums, insisting eight or nine songs feels a more natural size.

"Producing 15 or 20 songs at once is a lot of work if you want all of them to be good," Robyn told BBC 6 Music. "It creates a constipated half-way of dealing with your fans and your music. It doesn't feel natural, there's no flow in it.

"It's just a logical development. If you look at how the industry is changing and how people are consuming music, it makes sense."

The star is known for her edgy electropop sound and she is determined to keep pushing boundaries with her music. She is pleased with the third instalment of her Body Talk trilogy of albums and is sure her fans will love her latest tracks.

Its the big pop finale, it's like an exercise in how far you can go in that world, Robyn explained. "Call Your Girlfriend is one of the most straight up melodic songs on the album. Time Machine is pop, pop, pop. I wanted not to play it safe. I wanted to take it all the way and tie it all together with real pop songs." (C) Cover Media
