Roja took a break from acting after she found herself busy with politics and taking care of her children. Though she was seen in Telugu films once in a while, the actress was not seen in any new film in Kollywood in the recent years.

And now, she is keen to make a comeback. At present, she is acting in two projects in Kollywood. One is Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum, directed by veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja, and the other is Saguni, which has Karthi Sivakumar in the lead.

Interestingly, Saguni directed by debutant Shankar Dayal is simultaneously being made in Telugu as well, under the title Shakuni. Says Roja, 'I play a lawyer who fights against atrocities in Saguni. It is a meaty role.'

On Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum, she says, 'I am happy to act in a film directed by Bharathiraja sir, who is my guru. I play the mother of Karthika (of Rangam fame) in this village based subject.'
