George Northwood, who looks after the British beauty's enviable locks, has revealed the essentials in cut, care and products to get hair like Rosie.

For those struggling to maintain healthy looking hair, George has recommended a care regime to follow. He revealed how to work with your colourist and hair stylist to grow a beautiful long mane.

"Long hair like Rosie's needs to be looked after, good shampoos and treatments all help. Regular trims, no longer than 12 weeks apart that is the maximum, never go longer than that even if you're growing it, just have a tiny trim," he said. "Make sure your colour isn't wrecking your hair; it's got to be healthy from root to tip. Also your colourist should know that you're growing it. I see loads of girls with long hair and knackered condition. Sometimes colourists and hairdressers work together."

The coiffure maestro also revealed what products Rosie uses to look after her hair at home.

George says that the star's fizz-free locks are down to a clever combination of haircare.

"She goes for the Kerastase strengthening treatments and products the Resistance range. Plus, she uses Moroccanoil [a brand of Morrocan oil products], 30.45; the two brands are a great combination to have."

George also talked through the texturing of the 23-year-old's crowning glory. The hair pro says avoiding too many layers is the key to full and thick tresses.

"The key to really good, long hair like Rosie's is to cut the hair all one length and not layer too much, as it can become too thin at the ends. I use invisible layering to give Rosie's hair really gentle layers. I slice through the ends, removing weight and giving it a beachy look that really flows," he told Elle. "Also, a grown-out fringe is essential for Rosie's hair cut at nose length." (C) Cover Media
