Rowan Atkinson out of hospital

5th August 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rowan Atkinson has been released from hospital after crashing his 650,000 supercar car last night.

Rowan was discharged from Peterborough City Hospital in a wheelchair today surrounded by several security guards. The famed Blackadder and Mr Bean actor, who is known for his slapstick comedy, slammed his high-performance car into a tree and a lamppost in pastoral Cambridgeshire, England, yesterday.

The McLaren F1 supercar, believed to be one of only 100 in existence in the world, burst into flames on the country road. Rowan escaped from the fire, sustained small wounds and talked to a passing motorist while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

The actor was admitted into hospital yesterday and stayed overnight. He left hospital with only a minor shoulder injury.

An insider told British newspaper The Sun that Rowan has been extremely lucky not to have sustained worse injuries. "It's a miracle he walked away," claimed the source.

The actor has yet to comment on his condition since his release. (C) Cover Media
