(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rupert Everett is excited about the royal wedding despite thinking marriage is ghastly.

The 51-year-old actor, known for his roles in movies such as My Best Friend's Wedding and The Next Best Thing, is looking forward to Fridays ceremony between Britains Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London.

Despite being excited about the royal nuptials, Rupert doesnt actually approve of the institution of marriage. His patriotic nature means he wont be able to resist Fridays proceedings, and he admits he has really warmed to royal-to-be Kate.

I think marriage is ghastly. But Im very into the royal wedding, he told Time Out London.

First of all I didnt like Kate Middleton. Then when the engagement came up on TV, I thought: Oh, shes rather good tough.

Rupert is openly gay and came out in 1989 he is currently dating, although he prefers to keep his romantic life private. In the past the actor romanced actresses including Susan Sarandon and French star Batrice Dalle, and he admits his destiny could have been very different.

There was a point with Batrice when we thought she was pregnant, and if she had been things would have been different. Her not being, somehow, was a defining moment. Thats when I started going to clubs a lot, he explained. (C) Cover Media
