Rupert Grint desperate for ski movie

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Rupert Grint still has "faith" that an Eddie the Eagle biopic will happen.

The 22-year-old British actor became an international star thanks to his role as wizard Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movie franchise.

The final instalment of the picture Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is currently storming box offices across the globe, while all eyes are on the cast's future plans.

One of the post-Potter projects Rupert is most excited about is a biopic about British skier Eddie The Eagle' Edwards, who was famed for his daring ski stunts and was the first person to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping.

The movie still doesn't have a confirmed writer or director, although Rupert is eager for it to move forward.

"It's a story that I really like and it's still in the working yet. I still have faith that it will happen," he told MTV News. "It's been in kind of development for a while, but yeah, hopefully it will come up."

Despite being emotional about leaving the Potter franchise behind, Rupert admits a large part of him is also pleased to be moving on from lovable magician Ron. He hopes to avoid being typecast, and is willing to try any character.

"Anything really different, really," he replied when quizzed on his future film plans.

"Playing the same character for ten years really does give you this thirst for new things. I'm not sure I'm going to miss it. I am looking forward to this kind of newfound freedom. Just see where it takes me." (C) Cover Media
