Rupert Grint: Red locks are for life

9th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Rupert Grint insists he "isn't bothered" by his red hair.

The 22-year-old British actor is famous for his portrayal of wizard Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film franchise, whose concluding chapter Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 hits cinemas next week.

Rupert is famed for his red locks, and says despite the stigma attached, he has never suffered at the hands of bullying.

"Yeah there is!" he exclaimed when asked about why red-headed people get taunted. "I managed to avoid it. I never really got bullied for my red hair. I knew some kids who really struggled with it. It's ridiculous. There's such a big stigma about ginger hair. People think you're geeky or this or that. It's really weird. It's never really bothered me or affected me too much."

Rupert insists he would never dye his trademark locks. The star says his red hair has become the feature most people recognise him by.

"I've never ever thought about dyeing it or hiding it. It's just part of who I am," he added in an interview with Attitude magazine. (C) Cover Media
